Bad lawyers hurt people.  Bad lawyers also hurt good lawyers by causing people to have a negative view of good lawyers.  Good lawyers are skilled at what they do and help people.  Good lawyers help many people and help advance society.  Bad lawyers cheat people out of their hard earned money and should not be allowed to continue being lawyers.

Horror story of a bad lawyer just click HEREArticle in the Los Angeles Times about a very dishonest lawyer who was eventually disbarred after hurting many people and cheating them out of their money.  It should have stopped at one but continued.

A real shyster attorney is Sanford Troy he is located in San Diego.  He took my money to represent me then did not appear in court and my case was dismissed.

Unfortunately, when a bad lawyer loses your case due to failures on their part, what are you going to do? Hire a lawyer and sue?  The bad lwayer will tie up your lawyer in court for as long as it takes to make you go Bankrupt.  Then you think Hey! I’m gonna file a complaint with the State Bar that is supposed to protect the public from bad lawyers and then you discover the really ugly truth.  The State Bar does not take away a lawyer’s license just because a bad lawyer does a bad job?

Here is what I propose to try to get enacted as law.  The creation of a Lawyer Review Board (no lawyers allowed) that examines complaints against lawyers to determine if the lawyer complained about did a bad job.  If the Lawyer Review Board determines that the lawyer did a bad job, the lawyer loses their license permanently.

UPDATE:

I spoke with a lawyer who thinks a lawyer review board is a really bad idea.  I asked him why?  He said it would be unfair for a lawyer to lose their license because they did a bad job of representing a client.  I’m not a lawyer, they have really pretty pieces of paper they frame and put on their wall to impress people.  I do not.  My name is John, I am a simple handyman.  Recently I was hired to repair a leaking faucet that a previous repair person had failed to fix.  I fixed the faucet.  Had I failed to repair the faucet my customer would not have paid me.

The difference between me and a bad lawyer is that a bad lawyer wants to be paid when they fail but my customers only pay me if I succeed.

Please let me know if you think a lawyer should be paid when they fail?
